Ask A Biologist began in 1997 in the School of Life Sciences as a biology learning resource tool for students, teachers, parents, and life-long learners. The site continues to be developed, and maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers. Ask A Biologist is visited, on average, over 110,000 times each day and has answered more than 45,000 biology questions. During its 25 plus years the website has been visited over 150 million times.
Who should use Ask A Biologist?
Anyone is welcome to use Ask A Biologist. Keep in mind that it serves a broad range of learners and is a resource for teachers and parents. We also find that life-long learners enjoy many of the content areas on our website and encourage anyone interested in biology to make use of its content. As always, ASU faculty and staff will be accessible through email to their students.
What Ask A Biologist does not do
Ask A Biologist is not intended to answer questions for post-secondary students (college and university level students). However, teachers are highly encouraged to use the site, whether they are involved in preK-12 classes or not, and to send us their feedback.
